Make Money with Rebates!

I Love Mail In Rebates (MIR)! Mail in rebates are a great way to get paid to shop! :) When I began submitting MIRs in May of last year I was a bit skeptical. I worried they were just a scam and that I wouldn't really get my money back. After receiving my first few rebate checks in the mail I was hooked! I received all but one (Organix Shampoo) of the MIRs I submitted in 2008.

Rebating Tips

1.) Keep an eye out for Sales/Extra Bucks on items with mail-in-rebate offers. Oftentimes you can make a nice profit! For example- At Walgreens this month Orajel Cold Sore is an Free After Rebate EasySaver Rebate Item AND there is a mail-in-rebate (10/26/08 S insert) available through the manufacturer. Because you can submit your receipt information on-line Walgreens rebates it means you still left with your original receipt to mail in for the manufacturer rebate too!

2.) Mail -in -rebates come in many forms. Some MIR forms are attached to the product, others can be printed from the Internet, and some can be found on tearpads located in aisles/drinkcases at your local store. I use Hot Coupon World to keep me up-to-date MIRs.

3.) Save your receipts!! You never know when a mail-in-rebate offer will pop up! On several occasions I have come across MIR offers for products I knew I had already purchased. In this case I have all my receipts saved (filed by month) and can pull the receipt and submit it for the rebate.

4.) Read the Rebate Form Carefully. Rebate requirements vary from product to product. The majority of the time an original cash register receipt, UPC label, and rebate form are required.

5.) Make a copy of everything before mailing. Stuff happens. You may have to resubmit your rebate information and in order to do that you must have a copy of it yourself. :)

6.) Track Your Rebates. In addition to making a copy of the rebate for myself, I also write the date the rebate was mailed. By looking at the date I submitted the rebate I can estimate when my rebate should arrive. If my rebate hasn't arrived in the time frame promised I know that I need to call and check on its status.

Ooooh! Good question....

Right now I'm waiting for:
$5 from Zantac (was free during the 12/21 sale ~ so a double dip)

Orajel, VitaminShampoo, NeilMed, Sucrets & the $15 Olay GC deal.

I'm also waiting for $20 from Dick's Sporting goods from my dad's Christmas gift and $50 from Bausch & Lomb for a buying a year's supply of contacts.

Oh yea, and I'm also still waiting on Organix from June... Ugh! I faxed "Natasha" from there the other day but I still haven't received anything. CVS has new Organix "flavors" out and I'm tempted to try, but I swore I'd never buy their products again.

Thanks so much for the info. I am going to send in the Nasogel. I purchased 4 bottles of it so I am going to send in three. I learned quick last year to save receipts because you never know when a rebate will pop up.

You guys are rockin' the rebates this month too! I hope this keeps up throughout the year!

Laurie- So, you actually spoke to a human being for that Organix Rebate? Everytime I call the number I get somekind of shady automate answering thing and I have to select someone to speak with even though it doesn't tell you what their job is...??

I had to call my mom last night and tell her to mail me the UPC from a Zantac box because I had given her all the ones I had and forgotten to keep one for the rebate. Oops.

Mandy-You may be able to submit for the 4th Nasogel if you do it seperately and have it on a seperate receipt. I don't think there's a limit on the number of rebates you can send in for.

Mary-
Wow! You're off to a great start! I'm planning on sending off for the Pepsi/Frito, Zantac, and Smart Balance soon and I believe there's a windex rebate out there now too (my mom's sending me that form in the mail).

Woo Woo Keep Em' Coming! I Love it!

No, I haven't talked to a human being at Organix, but through my web searches I found a name and fax number for someone at Universal Marketing. Natasha - (954) 929-7070.

I'm getting mad all over again too! LOL....I just filed a complaint against Universal Marketing w/the Better Business Bureau. I figured since they are the ones not sending it I'd file against them.

In regards to the Nasogel rebate, I purchased mine @ CVS, but the form in the box states that you have had to purchased it from one of the distributors listed above and CVS wasn't one of them...Am I reading this wrong or is there another rebate form somewhere else? Thanks for your help.

Janis-

(I know I already emailed you, but i'm going to post this in case others are wondering the same thing) The form in my booklet states "In appreciation of your continued support, we are offering our valued customers a manufacturer' CASH REBATE for purchases made at the listed pharmacy's." I'm wondering if you are looking right above the Cash Rebate Offer at the NeilMed Distributors? If that's the case, the Distributors are the companies that delivery the products to the various pharmacy's, it's not actually a list of the participating pharmacies. If you look at page 20 in the booklet you will see the Nasogel Product w/ CVS listed as one of pharmacies that carry the product. You can also see a list of all the pharmacy's that carry NeilMed products - HERE. Also checkout this Nasogel Rebate/cvs forum at Hot Coupon World that addresses questions relating to this rebate. I hope that helps!!

I keep meaning to post this and it keeps slipping my mind. You were having problems with your Organix rebate, right? I filled out this online form and received my rebate check shortly afterwards. Its worth a try, right? Here's the link to my post with the details: http://frugalsuz.blogspot.com/2008/07/help-with-organix-rebate.html

Good luck!
