stockpilemess

A couple weeks ago, Shannon at For the Mommas, announced that she was hosting a contest for the messiest stockpile.  I thought, what the hey, my stockpile is pretty out of control and I emailed Shannon pictures of my mess.  To my joy,  I just found out that I am a messy stockpile finalist and in the running for a $500 credit to One Kings Lane!!

So, now this is the part where I beg and plead for your votes!  You’ll want to check the “Jamie” box and submit! There is ONE vote per person (but please feel free to tell your family and friends to vote for me too Smile).  Voting ends Jan. 30, 2011.

Vote Now!    {And thank you all for your support! You all are the best!}

shortcuts2

Recently, I’ve had several of you ask:

How do I get credit when my shortcuts coupons don’t deduct?

It’s easy, but a little tricky to figure out, so here’s some help.

1.) Sign into your shortcuts.com account and select the “HELP” tab.

2.) Click on Please Select a Help Topic —->Choose Electronic Coupon Redemption —-> then select, My electronic coupons didn’t redeem when I shopped.

3.) Click on Complete the Dispute Form. Be sure to have your store loyalty card and receipt handy!

After you submit your information you will receive an email confirmation.  The coupon is usually credited to your store loyalty card right away and available for you to redeem on your next shopping trip.

How To Print My Store Matchups

by Jamie on July 31, 2010

A few weeks ago, I decided to start doing store matchups for CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid (with Staples and Office Depot deals thrown in).

Did you know that my store matchups are printable?  Please feel free to print and take the list with you to the store (and feel free to tell your friends where you got it :) )

At the end of each post you’ll see this:

PrintCapture

To Print, click on the third icon – it will say “Send this Page to Print Friendly”.  From there you have the option of Printing, Saving as a PDF, Emailing, or Tweeting.  You also have the option of removing pictures and text that you really don’t want to waste your ink on. :)

Build Your Stockpile

More information coming soon! :)

CVS has Extra Bucks, Walgreens has Register Rewards and Rite Aid… they have the Single Check Rebate Program!
What is the Single Check Rebate Program {SCR}? Every month Rite Aid issues Single Check Rebate Directory that looks like this:

The SCR booklet contains a listing of products that offer rebates when you buy a particular item. When you purchase items in the SCR Directory you will earn a cash-back rebate {aka Single Check Rebate}.

The offer period for each rebate may differ! It is important to pay attention to the rebate dates as some rebates are good on certain weeks ONLY. It’s also important to note that the monthly rebate period doesn’t always start on the 1st and end on the 30th of every month. Most rebates are limited to ONE rebate per product/offer.

Where can I get a Rebate Directory? You can find the SCR Directory booklet in a display next to the weekly ad. The booklet can also be viewed online.

How Do I Submit My Rebates ?
1) Register online and create a SCR account. {Rebates can be submitted via snail mail & instructions on how to do this is located in the SCR Directory.}

2) Submit your rebate by logging in to your SCR account. Select Enter Your Receipts. You’ll be prompted to enter your receipt information so have it handy. Note: It can take up to 5 days for your receipt information to process and your rebate it applied.

3) At the end of the month you’ll want to Request Your Check. You will receive a paper check in the mail in 2-3 weeks. NOTE: Your Single Check Rebate (SCR) Check can be requested ONCE per month. In other words, wait till the end of the month to request your check so you don’t miss out on any SCR deals that pop up throughout the month.

I highly recommended entering your receipt on the same day you make your purchase. I’ve been guilty of misplacing receipts a time or two (or three) and that’s just not any fun! By the way, you’re rebate check will not arrive in an envelope. Instead, your check will arrive as a postcard for the whole world to see. :) Don’t worry though, I haven’t had any issue with receiving my check in the mail.

So what’s so great about Rite Aid’s SCR Program? Single Check Rebate items can easily turn into moneymakers when combined with manufacturer coupons! Often times Rite Aid will advertise these “freebates” in their weekly ad!

For example: Let’s say Dove Bodywash is on sale for $4.00 with a SCR of $4.00 and you have a coupon for $1.50 off Dove Bodywash. At the register you use your coupon and pay $2.50 (+tax) out of pocket. When you get home, you submit your receipt for a $4.00 Single Check Rebate, making you a $1.50 profit!

Rite Aid also allows customers to “stack” manufacturer coupons with Rite Aid store coupons. All Rite Aid store coupons begin with “RC.” Rite Aid coupons can be found in the weekly ad and printable Rite Aid coupons can be earned by watching Rite Aid Video Values.

Another way to make a profit is to utilize money off coupons {like a $5 off a $25 purchase} when purchasing your rebate items. For example: Let’s say you purchase $25 worth of items that are all free after rebate, you use $10 in manufacturer coupons, and you have a $5/$25 purchase. When it’s all said and done you end up making a $15 profit!

FAQ’s
If a rebate requires you to purchase more than one item can purchases be made in separate transactions? Yes! Qualifying purchases can be made on different receipts. Just be sure to keep all your receipts and that all your purchases are made during the promotional offer timeline.

There’s not a Rite Aid in my area, can I still participate in the Single Check Rebate program? Yes! You can purchase Single Check Rebate items directly from the Rite Aid website! You won’t be able to use coupons, but you’ll have the opportunity to get in on some of those “freebate” offers!

In my experience, the Walgreens Register Reward program takes more time to learn and conquer than the CVS Extra Bucks program. But have no fear, you WILL get the hang of it! Here are some tips to get you started.

There are several ways to save at Walgreeens:

In-Ad Coupons: These are coupons that are found inside the weekly Walgreens ad. The weekly ads can be found in the store and in your weekly Sunday newspaper. In-ad coupons can be stacked {combined with} manufacturer coupons to give you even greater savings. You don’t have to tear these out of the ad, the cashier can just scan them.

In-Store Coupon Booklets: Monthly, Walgreens publishes in-store coupon booklets. At my store these are located next to the weekly ad. Keep an eye out for the Walgreens Children’s Activity Book that is packed with coupons. These are usually located near the pharmacy and sell for $0.99. Another one to look out for is the Diabetes and You booklet. The coupons in the in-ad store coupon booklets can be combined with manufacturer coupons as well. Again, you don’t have to tear these out of the booklet the cashier can just scan them.

Tip: You only need (1) Walgreens Store Coupon even if you’re purchasing several of that item. The register is set up to automatically apply the coupon to each product you’re purchasing.

Register Rewards: A Register Reward is a coupon that prints after you purchase a qualifying product(s). Register Rewards print at the checkout from what’s called a “catalina machine.” Register Rewards expire 2 weeks from the date they print. Register Rewards can be used like cash {some restrictions apply}. Qualifying Register Rewards products can be found in the weekly Walgreens ad.

Many times when you combine Register Reward deals with coupons you end up making money on your purchases! For example: Let’s say Pantene Shampoo is $3.00 and you earn a $3 RR when you purchase it. You find a coupon for $1.00 off Pantene and end up paying $2.00 out of pocket and earn a $3.00 RR. That’s a $1.00 profit!

Tip: At some point you’ll probably have a cashier tell that your RR didn’t print because you used a manufacturer coupon. DON’T BELIEVE THEM, that isn’t true. Sometimes RR just don’t print. Talk to the manager about it. If they can’t make it right, return the items and try again another day.

What you need to know about Register Rewards.
1.) You CANNOT use Register Rewards to pay for the same item that earned you the Register Reward in the first place. If you do, your Register Reward WILL NOT print. Register Rewards do not “roll.”

For example: Let’s say Dove deodorant is $3.00 and you earned a $3.00 Register Reward for purchasing it. You cannot use the $3.00 RR you just earned to purchase another Dove deodorant. If you do, your $3.00 RR will not print.

To make the best use of your Register Rewards, use them to purchase other Register Reward generating items.

2.) You MUST have as many items as you have coupons/Register Rewards (in-ad store coupons do not count towards this total) or you’ll hear the dreaded register “beep.”

For example: Let’s say you’re ready to checkout and inside your cart are four items.
1-Colgate Toothpaste-$2.00- $1.00 MQ = $1.00
1-Dawn Dish Soap-$1.00
1-Glade Candle-$3.00-$1.00 MQ= $2.00
1-Revlon Eye Shadow-$4.00

______________________________________
Total Before Coupons: $10.00
Total After Coupons-$7.00

You have a total of 4 items and 2 manufacturer coupons. You want to pay using your Register Rewards and you discover that you have a $4 RR, a $2 RR and a $1 RR. Now you have a total of 4 items and 5 coupons. So, to be able to use all of your Register Rewards at checkout you’ll need to grab a “filler” item. This is something inexpensive {a caramel, candy bar, gum, pencil, etc} that will get you item number up so you’ll be able to use all of your Register Rewards.

Tip: If you get to register and find that it “beeps” and won’t accept your last register reward {even though you’re sure that you matched items to coupons and all that jazz} grab another filler item and add it to your order. This works for me 99% of the time!
3.) Order Matters. There seems to an ongoing debate about the best order to hand over your coupons to avoid “beeps” at the register. Here’s how I hand over my coupons.
-Manufacturer Coupons
-Store Coupons
-Register Rewards
Rain Checks: Walgreens will issue rain checks for items that are out of stock. If you have coupons that don’t expire for awhile, it’s a good idea to get a rain check. However, it’s important to remember that register reward items will only produce register rewards during the week it is on sale.

In Conclusion…. Walgreens requires a lot of patience! Some of my frustration with Walgreens is that there is no corporate coupon policy. Start small and don’t give up! Practice makes perfect.

If you experience problems related to your Register Reward catalina:
Contact the Catalina company at 888-322-3814. You will need to have your receipt in front of when you call.
