Welcome to the Ultimate Blog Party! My name is Jamie and I’m the founder of I Am A Money Magnet. I started blogging in June 2008 after learning that my husband was about to be unemployed. While my husband began his job search, I started looking for ways to cut back on our expenses. I re-evaluated our budget, cut out unnecessary expenses, and poured every extra cent we had into savings. I was “gazelle intense” as Dave Ramsey likes to say.
I’m not exactly sure how it all happened, one free sample, lead to another free sample, that eventually led me to couponing! I started posting pictures of my money-saving shopping trips, sharing my financial goals, and sharing my budgeting victories (and woes). I have always been passionate about living debt-free, saving for a rainy day, and spending my money wisely and starting this blog was a natural extension of who I am.
As God has blessed me, it is my desire to bless others! I started this blog as a way to connect with other deal-seeking, penny pincher’s. :) I do hope you will stay a bit and take a look around.
